International Society for Plant Low Oxygen Research（ISPLORE）

ISPLORE is the society of "Flooding and Low Oxygen Biologists". It is an international research community focused on understanding signaling and responses of plants to impeded aeration brought about by a wide variety of means including waterlogging of soil, submergence, within the context of development and growth, or as related to post-harvest physiology, soil compaction or even space flight.

Our community includes ecophysiologists, plant breeders, biochemists, molecular geneticists, and synthetic biologists. Our research addresses the impact of climate change on ecosystems, species distribution, and crop production. It also considers the fundamental mechanisms of low-oxygen sensing and signaling of importance from agriculture to human health.
